Concert on the National Mall

Anton, Jake, Braydon, and Bonnie went to the concert on the National Mall today. It was amazing! We stood about 500 feet from the Washington Monument. We could hear it live and then saw/heard it on the jumbotron. We couldn't see the stage/Lincoln Memorial; we could see just past the WWII memorial. The video is a glimpse of what it felt like to stand in the crowd. The crowd loved all of the performers but Usher, Stevie Wonder, and Mary J. Blige got particularly enthusiastic applause where we were standing. Jack Black, Steve Carrell, and the dude from Harold and Kumar (I don't know his name) got particularly enthusiastic applause from the three boys with me. People were commenting on how surprised they were at how awesome Garth Brooks was as he played Shout.

Obama's speech was the best part. Second to that for me was Mary J. Blige singing Lean On Me. I have new friend, Charie from New York (above in purple scarf) who sang and danced with me on that song among a few others. What an afternoon!
