Our dear friend, Susan (Galetti) Campion, has this comment to share: "I have the privilege of working with 7th and 8th graders at a local Catholic Academy every Wednesday on a volunteer basis. I work with individual students who need assistance on how to study and ace a test; I teach math to small groups of students; and I grade papers. This past Wednesday, I graded papers of all students who needed to respond to 11 different specific aspects of the Inauguration. Generally, they were impressed and moved by Aretha Franklin; laughed at the actual swearing in; appreciated and were ready to commit to President Obama’s Call to Action suggesting that ALL of us are responsible for moving our country forward; and were impressed that President Obama extended his hands to other countries and religions (specifically mentioning Muslims) WITHOUT sacrificing our strong stance to uphold our principles and be seen as a leader nation who will protect and uphold our desire for a democratic nation."
